Vu2Vu connects in the global mobile environment

Since we established the Vu2Vu Vidyo powered global video communications network the benefits of desktop personal telepresence has been strikingly apparent. Previously, I would travel between our European and USA offices approximately every 6 weeks. In the last 6 months there has been no requirement for me to travel between Dublin, Ireland and Austin, Texas. I am in daily video communication between our offices and no instance has occurred which could not have been addressed through video communication.

Last week I attended a conference in Hamburg, Germany.  Carrying a laptop through various airports is an inconvenience. This time I took my Motorola Xoom Android tablet loaded with the new VidyoMobile desktop. What a wonderful experience, no more heavy laptop bags and most importantly I never lost touch with the office. I was able to participate in telepresence quality multipoint global conferences and shared applications on the Xoom tablet. I connected using open wifi networks at airports, hotels, and at the conference centre.  I also connected using GSM via a wifi modem.

As a separate exercise I purposely pointed my Xoom to our router hub in the USA rather than our European Vu2Vu Network hub. Picture and sound quality was excellent with no apparent latency even when calls were placed to UK and Australia.

Vu2Vu and Vidyo are breaking the mold when it comes to global mobile video communications.
